They have their first shot and have been dewormed before going to their new homes. We breed for beauty, health, and a nice mild temperament for excellent family pets. We started breeding golden retrievers about 30 years ago. My husband’s family had grown up with golden retrievers and when I met their dog I fell in love with the breed. Our first retriever was fantastically smart and was addicted to chasing balls. She was also great with our 3 young daughters and just a wonderful family dog. She had several litters of puppies and we enjoyed it so much. We moved on to breeding field line retrievers, which we also loved, but they were a bit high strung for me. My turning point in breeding was when I attended a dog show in St. Paul where I saw all the gorgeous show dogs; they were so beautiful that they almost looked like a different breed. I loved their light color and straight coats with long feathering. I HAD to have one. We acquired Cokato’s Captain Morgan in 1995; he was the most beautiful puppy I had ever seen. His grandfather was the top golden for Best in Show in history at that time. He grew up to have such a mild and wonderful temperament, everyone loved him. He greeted everyone at the door with a handshake and promptly took their shoes for them. He was so easily housetrained and very intelligent. He produced many extremely beautiful puppies over the next 12 years. We had so many people coming back for another one or one for their family members. He lived in great health until the age of 15 and is greatly missed. Our current dams are his granddaughters, best of their litters for looks and personality. They are also extremely beautiful cream color with a wonderful mild temperament, great with my grandchildren and have the cutest puppies ever. I have been breeding their lines since 1995 and have not had the current problems that golden retrievers are experiencing such as early cancer, thyroid issues, hip, heart and eye problems. Our current sire is a beautiful blond who is an awesome retriever with a great personality who loves to swim and retrieve balls. My lines have consistently produced happy, healthy, mild tempered dogs that everyone loves. They are quality well built dogs bred to be excellent family pets. These dogs draw attention wherever they go! We currently live in Fort Myers Shores in the winter and summers in Grove City, Minnesota, about 75 miles west of the TC. We are serious hobby breeders and although we do not show our dogs we currently have 3 females and 1 male that are our companions and wonderful family pets.
